Arc

Log bank texts automatically

Your bank texts you after every payment. Set this up once and Arc reads each one on your iPhone, then keeps the payment waiting in your inbox for a quick yes or no. A few minutes, three steps.

  1. Add the Arc shortcut

  2. Turn on the automation

The shortcut brings one automation, When I Get a Message Containing ‘a’, switched off. It must be on.

    1. Open Shortcuts › Automation.
    2. Open the automation and tap Edit (top right). Check Run Immediately is on and Notify When Run is off.
    3. Switch it on.

What the automation looks like after you tap Edit.

Not there (iOS 26, or the import didn’t bring it)? Make it by hand:

    1. In Shortcuts › Automation, tap + and choose Message.
    1. Leave Sender empty. Under Message Contains type a.
    1. Choose Run Immediately, then pick Arc · Bank SMS (Input: Message). Turn off Notify When Run.

Why “a”? Shortcuts needs something to look for, and almost every text has one.

  3. Keep it quiet

Notify When Run stays off in the automation (open it and tap Edit, top right, to check). Arc never opens or shows anything when a text arrives.

iOS may still show a short “Running your automation” banner. To hide it, turn off Settings → Notifications → Shortcuts (this mutes your other shortcuts’ banners too).

Paste one of your bank texts, or pick a sample. This uses the same rules Arc runs on your iPhone. Nothing you paste is saved.
