How to use it
- Step 1 of 4: In Arc, go to Settings › Automatic logging › Apple Pay and tap Add the Arc shortcut. Add it in Shortcuts, then come back and tap Allow Arc.
- Step 2 of 4: In Shortcuts › Automation, turn on When I tap a Wallet Card or Pass. Don’t see it, or on iOS 26? Tap +, choose Transaction, pick all your cards, choose Run Immediately and pick Arc · Apple Pay.
- Step 3 of 4: Keep it quiet: if you made the automation yourself, turn off Notify When Run. Then tap Send a test payment to see a sample arrive.
- Step 4 of 4: Tap your phone or Watch at a card machine. Arc gets the shop, the amount and the card, and the payment waits in Activity with your bank texts. Nothing is logged until you say so: tap ✓ to log it, ✗ to discard it, or Someone pays back if it’s someone else’s to pay.
Where to find it
- On iPhone
- Home › your photo (top right) › Settings › Automatic logging › Apple Pay. Waiting payments: Activity › Inbox
Good to know
- Only contactless taps in a shop start it. Online and in-app Apple Pay payments don’t, so Bank SMS covers those.
- If your bank also texts you about the payment, Arc keeps one entry, with the shop from Apple Pay and the card from the text (unsure? “Possible duplicate of …”: tap Same payment or Different payments). Wallet reports declined taps too, so a tap no bank text has joined after 2 hours says “No bank text yet”: log it if the payment went through, discard it if it was declined.
- In India, Apple Pay works with select Visa and Mastercard credit cards for now, since 30 September 2026. RuPay, debit cards and UPI aren’t on it yet, so Bank SMS covers those.
